'Spider-Man: Homecoming' is the No. 1 movie in North America with $117M

July 9 (UPI) -- The superhero blockbuster Spider-Man: Homecoming is the No. 1 movie in North America this weekend, earning $117 million in receipts, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 is Despicable Me 3 with $34 million, followed by Baby Driver at No. 3 with $12.8 million, Wonder Woman at No. 4 with $10.1 million and Transformers: The Last Knight at No. 5 with $6.3 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Cars 3 at No. 6 with $5.6 million, The House at No. 7 with $4.8 million, The Big Sick at No. 8 with $3.7 million, 47 Meters Down at No. 9 with $2.8 million and The Beguiled at No. 10 with $2.1 million.
