July 3 (UPI) -- Alberto El Patron made Impact Wrestling history Sunday at Slammiversary XV by unifying the Impact and GFW Championships.

El Patron, who already held the Global Force Championship, unified the titles and became a double champion after he defeated Impact title holder Bobby Lashley in the main event.

Dos Caras, a legendary wrestler from Mexico and the father of El Patron, accompanied his son during the match while Lashley enlisted the help of MMA fighter King Mo to reside in his corner.

The match ended after Dos Caras distracted Lashley which allowed El Patron to nail the double foot stomp for the victory.

The unifying of the titles comes as Impact Wrestling, formerly known as TNA and owned by Anthem Sports, will be rebranded as Global Force Wrestling moving forward. The promotion's weekly wrestling program on Pop TV will continue to be called Impact.

Other highlights from Slammiversary XV included GFW's Women's Champion Sienna defeating Knockouts Champion Rosemary in another unification match while NFL running back DeAngelo Williams teamed up with Moose to defeat Eli Drake and Chris Adonis.
