June 14 (UPI) -- Six Degrees of Separation is closing on Broadway Sunday.

The revival of John Guare's drama, which stars Allison Janney, John Benjamin Hickey and Corey Hawkins, was intended to play on Broadway for 15 weeks, but is instead dropping the curtain nearly a month early.

No reason was given for the quick closure for the play, which opened in April.

"Inspired by a true story, this critically acclaimed play follows the trail of a mysterious young con man who insinuates himself into the lives of a wealthy New York couple, claiming he's the son of actor Sidney Poitier," a synopsis explains. "After a shocking surprise, the couple tries to piece together the connections that brought him into their world."
