June 12 (UPI) -- Publisher Electronic Arts has brought to E3 a new multiplayer gameplay trailer of Star Wars Battlefront II that features characters and locations made famous in the prequel trilogy.

The clip, released during EA's E3 press conference, features the droid army of the Separatists who first appeared in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace , taking on their prequel-era enemies the Clone Troopers as they fight for control of Theed, the capital city of Naboo.

As the war rages on, a number of new additions coming to Battlefront II including new weapons and vehicles such as the Naboo Starfighter and the droid army's DDT tank, are shown off.

Phantom Menace villain Darth Maul is also featured entering the battle as he cuts down a number of Clone Troopers using his double-sided lightsaber.

"Fight in legendary battles across all three eras in Star Wars Battlefront II," EA promises as the title will feature locations and characters from all seven Star Wars films and beyond.

The trailer ends with quick looks at bounty hunter Boba Fett in action along with Darth Maul confronting Yoda and Force Awakens characters Rey and Kylo Ren taking part in a hard-hitting lightsaber duel.
