June 2 (UPI) -- A number of celebrities including America Ferrera, George Takei and more have welcomed Immigrant Heritage Month in a new video.

The clip, released Thursday, also features Jason Sudeikis, Orange is the New Black star Uzo Aduba and Broad City's Ilana Glazer.

The stars are seen reciting a poem by Lemon Anderson while donning t-shirts that read "I am an immigrant" and "I stand with immigrants" in order to encourage Americans to take action in support of immigrant rights.

"June is Immigrant Heritage Month, and today the #IAmAnImmigrant campaign launches the new #IStandWithImmigrants initiative to encourage all of us to explore our individual heritage & recognize our distinct and shared experiences," reads the synopsis. "We all have our piece in the American story, whether as a new immigrant, native to this land, a descendent of slavery or those who came to our nation seeking a better life."

Created by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's nonprofit organization Welcome.us, Immigrant Heritage Month was officially recognized by President Barack Obama in 2015.
