May 31 (UPI) -- Apple has announced that their upcoming Late Late Show spinoff from James Corden, Carpool: Karaoke: The Series, is set to premiere on Apple Music on Aug. 8.
From creator and executive producer James Corden and Ben Winston, Carpool Karaoke: The Series based on the popular Late Late Show segment of the same name, will consist of 16 half-hour episodes that bring together a celebrity and a musician to sing songs while driving in a car.
A different group of pairings will appear each week on Tuesday including Will Smith and Corden, Miley Cyrus and her family, Shakira and Trevor Noah, Game of Thrones stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith, John Legend, Alicia Keys and Taraji P. Henson and LeBron James and Corden, just to name a few.
"The new Carpool Karaoke series features 16 celebrity pairings riding along in a car together as they sing tunes from their personal playlists and surprise fans who don't expect to see big stars belting out tunes one lane over," reads the synopsis.
"I'm still going to see my kid on the weekends," Corden said previously of not having to host the series for every episode as he does on his late night show. "This just became a wonderful platform to see these people in such an intimate environment. I don't feel it's mine."
Corden will still continue to produce Carpool Karaoke segments as part of The Late Late Show.
