May 5 (UPI) -- Jennifer Lopez thinks new boyfriend Alex Rodriguez is "the best." The 47-year-old singer and actress was all smiles as she gushed about the 41-year-old retired New York Yankees star on Thursday's episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden.

"He's the best. You would love him," Lopez told Corden. "Honestly, he's a great guy. He's fun. He's awesome.
"I actually just tapped him on the shoulder and said hi," she added of their first encounter, which she previously told Ellen DeGeneres took place at lunch. "It's just normal. We just went to dinner."
Lopez and Rodriguez were first linked in March and confirmed their romance the same month. The pair made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2017 Met Gala this week.
"[They were] tied by the hip the entire night," a source told E! News. "You can tell they are really digging each other."
"They were really sweet with each other. [Alex] was holding her hand and really taking a backseat to her," another insider added. "He seemed very proud to be there with her."
Lopez previously dated rapper Drake, and was married to singer Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014. She shares twins Emme and Max with Anthony, while Rodriguez is dad to daughters Natasha and Ella with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.
