May 2 (UPI) -- Selena Gomez and The Weeknd made their red carpet debut as a couple Monday.
The 24-year-old actress and 27-year-old singer attended the 2017 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which honored Japanese label Comme des Garçons and its founder, Rei Kawakubo.
Gomez and The Weeknd were all smiles as they held hands, kissed and posed for photos. The actress wore a pink and white Coach dress with a thigh-high slit, lace detail and floral embellishment.
"So proud and grateful to @stuartvevers and @coach for tonight," she wrote on Instagram before thanking event chair Anna Wintour. "Thank you so much Anna for a beautiful event and for what you do."
E! News reported Gomez whispered "I love you" into The Weeknd's ear as they walked the red carpet. The couple were first linked in January following The Weeknd's split from Bella Hadid, who also attended the gala.
"[Selena] wants the world to know they're together," a source told Us Weekly in April. "She only does that when she's really dating someone."
Gomez, who previously dated singer Justin Bieber, supported The Weeknd at his concert Saturday in Los Angeles. Insiders told People the actress was "dancing it up and singing along," and "clapped and cheered" The Weeknd on after his final song.
