April 26 (UPI) -- Melania Trump celebrated her 47th birthday Wednesday in Washington, D.C. The first lady received well wishes from husband and president Donald Trump before attending a luncheon at the National Gallery of Art.
President Trump shared a photo of himself and Melania from his presidential inauguration ceremony in January that read, "Happy Birthday to our First Lady, Melania!"
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our @FLOTUS, Melania!" he tweeted on his personal account.
Melania, who resides in New York, was joined by second lady Karen Pence and other Trump administration spouses at the luncheon.
"Looking forward to today's Senate spouses luncheon at the National Gallery of Art. A wonderful group doing great things for our country!" the first lady tweeted.
Melania's spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, said the first couple have a private celebration planned in the White House for Wednesday evening, according to CNN. Grisham denied reports this week that Melania is unhappy in her marriage.
"Mrs. Trump is a loving wife and mother who has always put her family first and that will not change," she told The Huffington Post. "She is an independent woman who believes in our country, and continues her plans to serve as First Lady with integrity and dedication."
Melania and Trump married in 2005, and share 11-year-old son Barron Trump.
