April 20 (UPI) -- Marvel star Chris Evans will make his Broadway debut in Lobby Hero. The 35-year-old actor will star with Michael Cera in a Second Stage Theater production of the Kenneth Lonergan play, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Lobby Hero, directed by Trip Cullman, will reopen the Helen Hayes Theater in New York in March 2018. The play's run will be followed by a new production of the Young Jean Lee play Straight White Men.
Second Stage Theater, a non-profit that has produced shows such as "Dear Evan Hansen" and "The 20th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," finalized its purchase of the Helen Hayes Theater in 2015, according to Variety. The venue will exclusively stage work by living American writers.
Lobby Hero premiered off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in 2011. The play follows a security guard and his strict supervisor, and a rookie cop and her partner as they investigate a murder in a Manhattan apartment building.
