April 4 (UPI) --Brooklyn Beckham showed off his first tattoo on Instagram over the weekend.
The 18-year-old model paid tribute to dad David Beckham by getting a tattoo of Native American chief similar to one the 41-year-old retired soccer star has.

"Honoured to have my first tattoo done by dads friend Mark Mahoney," Brooklyn wrote Saturday on Instagram. "Thank you so much Mark x just like dads."
Brooklyn got his chief tattoo on his right forearm, while dad David has his inked on his left side. Brooklyn visited Mahoney at Shamrock Social Club in West Hollywood, and followed up by posting a photo of his finished tattoo Sunday.

"And we are done x," he captioned the picture for his 9.6 million followers.
The significance behind Brooklyn and David's tattoos is unknown, although David was spotted in 2015 in a Brixton shirt with a chief as its emblem. David told The Graham Norton Show the same year that Brooklyn often mimics his style.
"I do find him going in my wardrobe. Even though he doesn't think I'm a cool dad, I still find him wearing my clothes every single day," he said.

Brooklyn is the eldest child of David and designer Victoria Beckham, who married in 1999. The couple are also parents to 14-year-old son Romeo, 12-year-old son Cruz and 5-year-old daughter Harper.
