March 10 (UPI) -- Developer Telltale Games has lifted the curtain on their next interactive adventure game, Guardians of the Galaxy, with a set of new screenshots.

The images released Thursday on Twitter feature Marvel's signature rag-tag team of space heroes in action as Star-Lord is seen using his jet-powered boots to fly while Rocket is featured holding a laser cannon.

The screenshots also offer first-looks at members Groot, Gamora and Drax along with glimpses at some of the locations the team will be visiting in the game including the planet Knowhere.

"We're happy to share the first screenshots of @Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series!" the developer wrote on Twitter alongside the images.

Telltale Games also announced the voice cast for the Guardians crew which includes Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights) as Star-Lord, Emily O'Brien (Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor) as Gamora, Nolan North (Uncharted) as Rocket, Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) as Drax and Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among of Us') as Groot.

"In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, you wear the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, where your decisions and actions drive the story you experience," reads the synopsis.

The first episode of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is expected to release in 2017.
