Bill Paxton suffered post-surgery stroke, death certificate says

March 6 (UPI) -- Beloved actor Bill Paxton suffered a catastrophic stroke and died more than a week after undergoing heart surgery, his death certificate says.

Paxton's family confirmed on Feb. 26 that the 61-year-old Twister, Titanic and Aliens star had died on Feb. 25 following "complications from surgery."

E! News said Monday his death certificate indicates Paxton underwent a valve replacement procedure on Feb. 14.

He passed away 11 days later at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a deadly stroke, TMZ said

The Texas native was also famous for his work in the films Weird Science, True Lies, Apollo 13 and 2 Guns, as well as in the TV series Big Love, Hatfields & McCoys, Agents of Shield and Training Day.
