"So grateful that Maddie was able to go home today... it's truly a miracle," Spears' sister, singer Britney Spears, announced at the time. "Our prayers were heard, and they were answered! Thank you so much for all of your love and support this week. My family appreciates it more than you will ever know."

Maddie has since visited her school for Valentine's Day, and returned to sports last week. Spears posted a video Feb. 21 of the 8-year-old running and jumping at her first basketball practice since her hospitalization.

"1st Basketball practice today #godisgood," she wrote.

Spears shares Maddie with ex-fiancé Casey Aldridge, from whom she split in 2010. She is known for the Nickelodeon series All That and Zoey 101, and last released the single "Sleepover" in 2016.
