"You once brought hope," Fate declares to Superman before their battle begins. "Justice is blind, not heartless."

Special moves for Fate include his ability to teleport, cast spells and throw his opponents into another dimension as part of his finishing move.

"Sorcerer Kent Nelson wears the Helm of Fate and sees the fate of all mankind, for better or worse," notes the official Twitter account of Injustice 2 alongside the footage.

Other playable characters confirmed for the title include Blue Beetle, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Supergirl, Gorilla Grodd, Aquaman, Darkseid, Swmap Thing, Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Cheetah.

The story focuses on the planet-collecting Brainiac setting his sights on earth following the events of the first game that saw heroes and villains choosing sides between Batman and Superman as they waged war against each other.
