Feb. 16 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump's daughter Tiffany expressed her gratitude to Whoopi Goldberg after The View co-host blasted people who refused to sit with her at New York Fashion Week.
Goldberg defended Tiffany Trump, 23, on Wednesday's edition of the talk show.
The Oscar-winning actress -- and vocal critic of Donald Trump -- said she didn't think it was kind for some magazine staffers to share social-media photos of empty seats near the only child of the president and his ex-wife Marla Maples at a fashion show. Some fashionistas also boasted in their online posts that they moved their seats expressly to avoid sitting next to Tiffany Trump.

"You know what? Tiffany, I'm supposed to go to a couple of more shows. I don't know what's going to happen, but I'm coming to sit with you because nobody's talking politics. You're looking at fashion. She doesn't want to talk about her dad. She's looking at fashion," Goldberg emphasized in a video clip tweeted by The View. "It's mean. You know what? I don't want to talk about your dad, but, girl, I will sit next to you because I've been there."
"Thank you @WhoopiGoldberg I'd love to sit with you too!" Tiffany Trump tweeted, along with a smiley face emoji.
