'Injustice 2': Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Cheetah join playable roster

Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Cheetah have invaded upcoming DC Comics-centric fighting game sequel Injustice 2 as new playable characters.

Featured Tuesday as part of a new gameplay trailer titled Here Come the Girls, the villainous trio are also accompanied by the previously revealed Black Canary as they fight off the likes of Batman, Wonder Woman and Robin among others.

"I thought you were done with crime," Batman says as he enters into a fight with Catwoman. "How else can a girl get your attention," she replies.

Special moves for the characters include Catwoman using a motorcycle to rope her enemies in using her whip and Poison Ivy sending her foes into a giant plant that swallows them whole.

Other playable characters confirmed for the title include Blue Beetle, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Superman, Supergirl, Gorilla Grodd, Aquaman Atrocitus, Darkseid and Swamp Thing.

The story focuses on the planet-collecting Brainiac setting his sights on earth following the events of the first game that saw heroes and villains choosing sides between Batman and Superman as they waged war against each other.

Injustice 2 is set to arrive for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on May 16.
