Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Marvel and video game publisher Square Enix announced a partnership Thursday to develop a new Avengers title.
The game currently referred to as The Avengers Project, was unveiled with a teaser trailer that deals with the reassembling of the superhero team after seemingly being defeated.
"They say the time of heroes is over. That if you're different, you're dangerous," proclaims a female narrator in the clip as images of Bruce Banner's glasses, Thor's hammer, Iron Man's arm and Captain America's shield are seen deserted amongst rubble.
"But I know the truth. The world will always need heroes. We just need to reassemble," the narrator continues before the group's signature "A" symbol appears.
"Marvel Entertainment and Square Enix announced today a multi-year, multi-game partnership, leading with the reveal of The Avengers Project," reads the trailer's synopsis. "This newly established partnership pairs the creative minds at Marvel and Square Enix for one of the most powerful alliances in interactive entertainment."
The title is being developed by Square Enix teams Crystal Dynamics -- known for working on the Tomb Raider series -- and Eidos Montreal -- known for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
The Avengers title represents the latest upcoming Marvel game the comic giant has announced following an exclusive Spider-Man game for the Playstation 4, a Guardians of the Galaxy game from TellTale games and a 4th entry in Capcom's Marvel vs. Capcom series.
