Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Jane Fonda and her boyfriend Richard Perry have called it quits after 8 years together. Perry, a music producer, confirmed the split to Page Six and said, 'We are still very close."
Fonda, 79, and Perry, 74 met and started dating in 2009 as she was recovering from knee surgery. In a 2012 video interview with Oprah.com, the actress detailed that she went to Los Angeles "to get a new knee and ended up with a new lover."
The pair are also now selling their Beverly Hills home they shared together during their relationship. In a promotional video for the property, Fonda describes how the home was the perfect fit for herself and Perry.
"Hello I am Jane Fonda and I am in my home, the home that I have shared with my partner Richard Perry for a number of years," she says in the clip. "Richard and I must have looked at more than 30 houses and the day we pulled in through the gate into the front, I took one look at the house and I knew. I just knew."
Fonda was previously married three times to director Roger Vadim, activist Tom Hayden and Ted Turner while Perry was previously married to actress Rebecca Broussard.
Fonda will next be seen alongside Dolly Parton to present her Grace & Frankie costar Lily Tomlin with the SAG Life Achievement Award during the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Jan. 29.
