Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst has announced a follow-up to his 2016 solo recorded album Ruminations.
The new album, titled Salutations, is set to release on March 17 and will serve as a companion album to Ruminations. It includes full-band versions of the ten songs from Ruminations performed with The Felice Brothers and drummer Jim Keltner, who has collaborated with Bob Dylan and John Lennon in the past, Oberst's label Nonesuch Records announced.
"Jim was really the captain of the ship and the spiritual leader of the project," Oberst said. "We leaned heavy on his fifty-plus years of musical insight to get us to where we needed to be. He brought such depth and dignity to the proceedings that made everyone else involved rise to the occasion. It was a true stroke of luck that he got involved when he did."
The album also features appearances by Jim James, Blake Mills, Maria Taylor, M Ward, Gillian Welch, Gus Seyffert, Pearl Charles, Nathaniel Walcott, and Jonathan Wilson.
In addition to the full-band versions of the songs from Ruminations, Salutations will also feature seven songs from a session at Five Star Studios in Echo Park in Fall 2016.
Salutations is available for pre-order via iTunes and the Nonesuch Store and will grant instant downloads of the songs "A Little Uncanny," "Tachycardia," and "Napalm."
