LONDON, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Fashion icon Victoria Beckham says she regrets having breast implants.

The 42-year-old English designer and former Spice Girl singer admitted in an open letter to her 18-year-old self for British Vogue that getting a boob job -- and lying about it -- was "stupid."

"Learn to embrace your imperfections -- this is what I want to tell you. Let your skin breathe; wear less makeup. (And don't ever let that makeup artist shave your eyebrows! The effects last forever.)," Beckham wrote.

"You will always be addicted to Elnett hairspray but you will tone it down," she continued. "And I should probably say, don't mess with your boobs. All those years I denied it -- stupid. A sign of insecurity. Just celebrate what you've got."

Beckham had confessed she had once breast implants in the March 2014 issue of Allure after denying plastic surgery rumors for years. She credited the Spice Girls in the interview with helping build her confidence.

"I don't have [implants] anymore," the star said before quipping, "I think I may have purchased them."

"I think what gave me confidence in myself was meeting the other girls," she said of bandmates Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C and Geri Halliwell. "We always said we were all like rejects in our own way. We had to work hard, and they helped accept me for who I was."

Beckham released three albums with the Spice Girls, and has since established a career as a designer. She will not take part in the group's 20th anniversary reunion with Bunton, Mel B and Halliwell.
