Idris Elba offering Valentines Day date through Omaze fundraising campaign

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Idris Elba has teamed up with charity fundraising site Omaze for fans to raise money for the W.E. Can Lead initiative in exchange for a Valentine's Day date.

"That's right love. Just you and me. No one else around. Just us," the actor says in a promotional video for the campaign while sitting nicely dressed alongside two glasses of champagne and a vase of roses.

"We'll get things started off with cocktails or perhaps champagne. And once we're feeling comfortable, we can order whatever your heart desires: Maybe some truffles, perhaps some steak, pepper soup and fufu. That's an African dish. ... And for dessert, you can have whatever you want and I mean, whatever you want," he continues in the clip.

Fans can enter the contest by donating on Omaze's website. The more money spent, the greater the chances at the winning the date become.

Funds will help benefit W.E. Can Lead which is "committed to ensuring young girls receive the educational opportunity, leadership development and mentoring support necessary to become the new generation of female leaders across the continent of Africa."

"Safe spaces are created for girls to learn critical life skills, build self-esteem and defy the cultural norms that hinder them from fulfilling their full potential. W.E. Can Lead strive to empower girls to become influential leaders and decision-makers in their homes, communities and eventually, their country," their mission statement continues.

Other perks users can obtain through donations include a t-shirt featuring Elba's likeness, autographed photos and copies of his drama Luther on DVD and premiere tickets to his upcoming film Dark Tower.
