NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- The Undertaker returned to the WWE Monday on Raw to make a special announcement concerning the Royal Rumble.

"I've dug 29 holes for 29 souls," he continued regarding his opponents who will be battling it out on Jan. 29 to determine who gets a championship opportunity at WrestleMania.

The Undertaker joins an impressive lists of Superstars entering the Rumble match including Goldberg and his rival, The Beast Brock Lesnar among others.

The Undertaker's appearance wasn't the only surprise as Roman Reigns' time as United States Champion came to an end Monday after he defended his title in a Handicap match against best friends Chris Jericho and Universal Champion Kevin Owens.

While still putting up a valiant effort, the unfair advantage of facing two competitors was too much for Reigns to overcome. The bout came to an end after The Big Dog suffered two Codebreakers from Jericho and a Powerbomb from Owens on the ring apron.

Jericho then pinned Reigns for the three count and became the new United States Champion. The pair then celebrated in the ring together holding up their gold amongst a defeated Reigns.

Reigns will attempt to get revenge and the Universal title at the Royal Rumble when he faces Owens one-on-one while Jericho is locked inside a shark cage above the ring.

Other notable moments from Raw included WWE legend Shawn Michaels delivering a Sweet Chin Music to Rusev ringside while Big Cass battled Jinder Mahal, Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax defeating Sasha Banks and Bayley in a Tag-Team match and a match between Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman ending in a double count-out.
