Report: Halle Berry, Olivier Martinez reach custody agreement

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are one step closer to finalizing their divorce.

The 50-year-old American actress and French actor, also 50, have agreed on a custody arrangement for 3-year-old son Maceo, according to TMZ.

Berry and Martinez will share physical and legal custody of their son. The couple have yet to reach a property settlement, although a source said the pair's prenuptial agreement should help resolve any issues.

Berry and Martinez announced their split in October 2015 after more than two years of marriage. The couple said in a statement at the time that they would remain amicable and focused on their son.

"We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son," they said. "We wish each other nothing but happiness in life."

TMZ had reported in September that Berry and Martinez's divorce was close to being dismissed due to inactivity. E! News attributed the holdup to "continued discussions about money and Maceo."

Berry is also mom to 8-year-old daughter Nahla with ex-partner Gabriel Aubry. She will next star in the thriller Kidnap and is also slated for Kingsman: The Golden Circle with Taron Egerton and Kings with Daniel Craig.
