Amy Schumer buys back her father's farm

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Amy Schumer posted a throwback video on Instagram Monday announcing that she bought back her father's farm. The caption said, "Video from the farm when I was running away in the cornfield and my dad was taunting me because I wanted him to come with me. We lost the farm when we lost everything else. But today I got to buy it back for him."

She also posted a picture from a Facetime video with her father, Gordon Schumer, with the caption, "Today I bought my father's farm back."

Schumer spoke about her father to Mo Rocca in an interview for CBS Sunday Morning With Charles Osgood, in July 2015.

The actress/comedienne was born in Manhattan to a wealthy family. Her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was 12 and the family went bankrupt and moved to Long Island. Soon after, her parents divorced.

"I think it was the divorce and my dad getting sick that were the wonderful gifts that made me the strong angel you see here today," the comedian joked.
