WASHINGTON, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- United States Champion Roman Reigns and Big Cass took on Universal Champion Kevin Owens and Rusev in the main event of WWE's annual U.S. military event, Tribute to the Troops.

The audience, filled with active-duty military personnel, were treated to a highly-competitive match between the two teams alongside Big Cass' tag-team partner Enzo Amore and Rusev's wife Lana who were situated ringside.

Things came to a head after Reigns was able to take on Rusev alone, nailing the Bulgarian Brute with a devastating Spear after giving Owens a Superman Punch off the apron for the three count.

The match acted as a preview of WWE's upcoming Roadblock: End of the Line Raw pay-per-view event Sunday where Kevin Owens will defend his Universal Championship against Reigns in the main event.

Other highlights from Tribute to the Troops included Cesaro and Sheamus defeating The Golden Truth, The Shining Stars and The Club to earn a chance to face The New Day for the Raw Tag Team Championships at Roadblock and Smackdown's Tag-Team Champions the Wyatt Family defeating Dolph Ziggler and American Alpha.
