DALLAS, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Actor Judge Reinhold, best known for his roles in Fast Times at Ridgemont High and the Beverly Hills Cop series, was arrested in Dallas Thursday night after refusing a pat-down at the airport.
Police arrested Reinhold at Dallas Love Field on charges of disorderly conduct after he got belligerent with Transportation Security Administration agents who requested a second pat-down when his bag set off a security alarm.
Dallas police confirmed there was an arrest at one of the gates. They said they were "alerted by the Transportation Security Administration regarding an individual causing a disturbance by refusing to submit to a screening at the appropriate checkpoint area. The officers responded and subsequently took the individual into custody after he refused to comply."
According to Reinhold's attorney, Steve Stodghill, the actor walked through security scanners without incident, but was stopped after his bag set an alarm off at the security gate.
TSA agents asked Reinhold if they could pat him down a second time, and Reinhold refused because he didn't understand why another search was necessary. Reinhold reportedly escalated the scene after the agents suggested they continue in a private room, taking off his shirt and cursing at the officers.
Police were alerted and arrested Reinhold on the disorderly conduct charge, which is a misdemeanor and carries a fine.
"Thanks for the exposure guys," Reinhold said to reporters waiting outside the Lew Sterrett Justice Center as police were leading him in for booking. "Glad you're here."
