AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- University of Texas at Austin students using the campus' safe walking service were treated to golf cart rides from an unexpected driver -- Matthew McConaughey.
Students who used the SURE Walk service, which stands for Students United for Rape Elimination, were expecting a volunteer to accompany them on their nighttime walks earlier this week, but they were instead treated to golf cart rides from the Oscar-winning actor and 1993 University of Texas at Austin alumnus.
A video posted to Facebook by the school's student government shows the shocked reactions of the students who received rides from McConaughey.
"Just in case you couldn't get enough of campus safety, SURE Walk, and that one awesome alumnus who came to visit us last night, here is a short clip of Matthew McConaughey reminding students of the importance of staying safe on our campus," the Facebook post reads.
