Lisa Lynn Masters dead at 52 after apparent suicide

LIMA, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Lisa Lynn Masters, who appeared on shows like Gossip Girl and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt died in her hotel room in Peru earlier this week. She was 52.

According to local media, Masters was found inside of her hotel room closet where she reportedly hanged herself with a skirt.

A statement released by a representative for Masters requested that fans mourn Masters without needing to know the details surrounding her death.

"As to her husband and family's wishes, we hope that the industry can mourn her death without details. In these darkening days, we hope those who have had the pleasure of knowing her will see how brightly she shined and will find that light within themselves and continue to share it with others -- just as she would have," part of the statement read.

Masters' family has set up a GoFundMe to help cover the cost of funeral expenses and the cost associated with flying Masters' remains from Peru to her childhood home of Asheville, N.C.

Masters is survived by her husband, William Brooks.
