ATLANTA, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford has ordered Nick Gordon to pay more than $36 million to the family of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown.

E! News said Thursday's ruling comes two months after Bedford determined Gordon was responsible for the young woman's death.

Gordon has not commented on the latest develop in the case.

He has, in the past, publicly denied any wrongdoing and has never been charged with a crime, but he skipped two scheduled court appearances in the wrongful-death, civil lawsuit against him, prompting Bedford to find in favor of the plaintiff, Brown's estate.

Brown, 22, was the daughter of recording artists Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. She died last year after months in a coma.

An autopsy indicated her death was caused by complications related to drugs and immersion in water. Brown was found unresponsive in a bathtub at the Georgia home she shared with Gordon.

"She was an entertainer. If you were around her, all you would do was laugh. She told a lot of jokes. She was always the life of the party... and anywhere she went," People magazine quoted Brown's father as saying in court Thursday. "I know she had the talent to be successful."
