French Montana, Iggy Azalea pose with elephant in backyard, accused of animal cruelty

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- French Montana and Iggy Azalea came under fire from fans after they posted photos on Instagram posing with a bejeweled elephant in Montana's backyard.

The elephant, wearing jewelry on its head, neck and feet, was delivered to Montana's house for his birthday on Thursday.

"Turn your life to a life time vacation," Montana captioned one photo. "Grinded all day so I can ball tomorrow. bday officially here all praise due to the most high."

In another photo the animal and the rapper are standing side by side, lifting their feet into the air.

"I love animals more than people!!" he posted. "Happy bday to me. Positive vibes at the Casa."

Azalea also shared a photo of herself standing next to the elephant as she reached out to pet it trunk.

People flooded the comment sections on the pictures accusing Montana and Azalea of supporting animal cruelty.

Montana responded to the comments on Twitter, telling people the elephant was taken care of.

"Shut yo [expletive] up that elephant was a surprise for my bday in my yard when I walked out and was from the zoo and people that take care of it," he wrote.
