LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Julie Bowen set the record straight about her rumored feud with Modern Family costar Sofia Vergara Wednesday while appearing on Ellen.

"Every night I get a call or I get an email [there are stories] that you are icy to Sofia Vergara, because you are jealous of her fame," Bowen explained to host Ellen DeGeneres.

"So I emailed her last night and we talk. Cause I'm like, 'What should I say? You're funny,'" she continued.

"Please, just borrow my blouse," the 46-year-old said of Vergara's response to show that they are friends.

After DeGeneres asked how such stories could be made based on lies, Bowen responded by bringing up the recent presidential election.

"Well, you know it kept one of our candidates up there for a long time. I'm not going to name names but you don't have to have the truth anymore. You just have to have the internet. You can just make up anything," she said.

Earlier on Ellen, Bowen detailed how she almost backed out of starring on Modern Family due to being pregnant with twins

"I wanted to desperately, but I was so pregnant with the twins during the audition process," she said. "I was so large, that I was going to give birth any minute ... so, I took myself out of first place for it because there was another job that I was auditioning for where the lady was pregnant. And I was like 'I need a job.'"

"When I think of that, that can keep me up in the middle of the night," Bowen said. "I don't know what my life would be like right now."
