GLASGOW, Scotland, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- In a surprising move, Smackdown Live commissioner Shane McMahon has joined Team Smackdown as the WWE's blue brand heads towards Survivor Series against rival Raw.

The announcement was made Tuesday by Smackdown Live general manager Daniel Bryan who was tasked with finding a replacement for Baron Corbin who was injured in his match against Kalisto earlier in the night.

McMahon, who has been attempting to keep the peace within Team Smackdown, broke up a fight between squad mates Dean Ambrose and New Wyatt Family members Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton following a six-man tag match that also included unlikely hero James Ellsworth and Kane.

Once the dust had settled and McMahon became a part of the team, he shook hands with teammate and WWE World Champion AJ Styles, showcasing a united front against Team Raw.

Earlier in the night, Ellsworth was also notably named Team Smackdown's official mascot.

Team Smackdown will now be facing off against Raw's formidable pairing of WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins, WWE United States Champion Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman.
