HARTFORD, Conn., Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Goldberg was able to prove he can still perform in the ring Monday after he was confronted by Paul Heyman and Rusev.

Heyman, who works as the advocate for Goldberg's upcoming Survivor Series opponent Brock Lesnar, came out first and teased the former World Heavyweight Champion that his client was present and ready to meet Goldberg face-to-face in the ring.

After Lesnar's entrance music hit, Heyman could be seen laughing as it was all a ploy. Visibly upset, Goldberg was then confronted by Rusev who slammed the 49-year-old for being washed up and unable to perform his signature finishing moves, the Jackhammer and Spear.

"Two moves that require strength and explosiveness, and looking at you, I don't think you have that!" Rusev said before suddenly striking Goldberg with his fist.

Unfazed, Goldberg then picked up Rusev and held him in the air. As Heyman looked on, Goldberg then surprisingly speared Heyman to the ground, much to the crowd's delight.

WWE later reported that Heyman was taken to the hospital with bruised ribs following the attack.

Survivor Series is set to take place on Nov. 20. Goldberg and Lesnar previously collided at WrestleMania 20 in 2004 which ended with Goldberg's hand raised in victory.
