Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson marry again in Mexico

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson tied the knot again, this time in a ceremony in Mexico, the couple shared on their respective Instagram pages.

A marriage certificate revealed last week showed Phelps and Johnson had already been legally married in June in a private ceremony in Arizona.

Johnson told reporters at the Olympics in Rio that she and Phelps were planning an "intimate" ceremony.

"It'll be small and intimate for the wedding, then we're throwing a massive bash for everyone in the States," she said.

Johnson, who changed her last name on Instagram to her husband's, shared a photo from Saturday's ceremony calling it "the happiest day" of her life.

Phelps shared a different picture along with the caption, "My best friend.... I love you!!"

Phelps and Johnson, who was 2010's Miss California USA, began dating in 2007 and are parents to son Boomer.
