Rockstar Games teases 'Red Dead' announcement on social media

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Rockstar Games is teasing on social media an upcoming announcement regarding its top-selling Western series Red Dead.

The video game developer and publisher also known for producing Grand Theft Auto, began hinting that a new Red Dead announcement is imminent on Sunday by posting an all-red version of its logo on Twitter.

Notably, the shade of red is consistent with the one used in conjunction with the series.

On Monday, Rockstar sent fans into a frenzy again by sharing artwork featuring a group of silhouetted cowboys standing on a hill. Both posts were released without any caption.

The last game in the series, the critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption was released for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. It was preceded by Red Dead Revolver, which was released for the Playstation 2 and Xbox in 2004.
