WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- The first trailer for the upcoming PBS documentary chronicling the hit Broadway musical Hamilton has been released.

"Hamilton's America", a 90-minute documentary set to air on PBS, will chronicle the creation and rise of the Tony-winning musical.

The 30-second trailer features creator Lin-Manuel Miranda discussing the success of the show, about founding father Alexander Hamilton, with President Barack Obama.

"I knew that Hamilton was going to change my life," Miranda said in the trailer.

In January, PBS said the documentary will "give viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at this sensational -- and sold-out -- Broadway musical" and will follow Miranda as he visited various historical locations while writing the show.

Hamilton's America is scheduled to premiere on PBS at 9 p.m. Oct. 21.
