LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- On Monday's season premiere of "The Talk," co-host Sharon Osbourne opened up about her leave of absence from the show and her mental "breakdown."
"I had a complete and utter breakdown," Osbourne said on the Season 7 premiere.
Osbourne explained how she woke up in the hospital in a catatonic state earlier this year.
"I couldn't think, I couldn't talk," she said. "I could do nothing. My brain just shut down on me."
Osbourne took an emergency leave from the daytime show in May and completed in-patient therapy which she says helped her get back on track.
"I found, for me, group therapy was the best thing that I could do," Obsourne said, "because there were several people suffering with what I was suffering."
She said she chose to open up about her issue because it might help someone else.
"If I could help somebody else along the way I would feel great," she said, adding she didn't want anyone to feel ashamed of their struggle.
