Paris Jackson cries in post about bullying: 'It's exhausting'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Paris Jackson broke down in tears in an Instagram post Wednesday after facing fresh bullying online.

The 18-year-old aspiring actress defended fellow star Sofia Richie while discussing the heavy toll cyberbullying has taken on her own life in the since-deleted video.

"I don't understand how there can be so much hatred in the world right now," Jackson began. "I've tried a lot of things. Ignoring it. But it's hard, it is, when there is so much of it. I don't get why I'm such an easy target."

"I share my life with you. I don't hide a lot. I'm very public," she said. "When I was fourteen I got so much hatred that I tried to kill myself and then I took a two-year break from social media. People asked me to come back, to make my Instagram public again, and nothing changed."

Jackson acknowledged she's "not the only one" to experience such bullying, naming Justin Bieber's girlfriend, Sofia Richie, as an example. Social media users targeted the 18-year-old model after Bieber shared pictures with her online.

"I have known [Sofia] since I was, like, 12 or 13," Jackson revealed. "She is the one of the sweetest girls in the world and people are telling her to kill herself. I mean, we're human beings, man. We got hearts and brains and feelings."

"When you say damaging things like that to people, it [expletive] them up. It really [expletive] people up when you do that. I don't know if that's what people want, but it's exhausting. Really and truly, it's really exhausting," she admitted.

Jackson, who has over 2 million social media followers, had encouraged her fans to stay strong in a post about her tattoos in June. The aspiring actress revealed at the time that several of her tattoos help cover self-harm scars.

"I will always carry my past with me, but I see ink as a way of changing for the better, always improving," she explained. "They represent strength for me. I look back at my old self and then I look in the mirror, and I see a fighter looking back at me."

"I'll always keep fighting, and encouraging others to stay strong," the star declared. "We all go through hell every now and then but it makes us the warriors of love we were meant to be. So to anyone struggling, it gets better. You're not alone."

Jackson is the daughter of late singer Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe, and sister to 19-year-old Prince and 14-year-old Blanket. The aspiring actress defended her dad in February after revealing she was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
