LONDON, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Victoria Beckham says she immediately fell for David Beckham. The 42-year-old English designer recalled the first moment she met the 41-year-old retired soccer star in the October issue of British Vogue.
"Love at first sight does exist," Beckham told the magazine. "It will happen to you in the Manchester United players' lounge -- although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy."
"While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family. (He's not even in the first team at this stage -- you are the famous one.) And he has such a cute smile," she gushed.
"You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you. He's going to ask for your number. (He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it.)" the star revealed.
Beckham and David Beckham, who met at a charity soccer match, married at Luttrellstown Castle, Ireland, in 1999. The couple share four children: 17-year-old son Brooklyn, 14-year-old son Romeo, 11-year-old son Cruz and 5-year-old daughter Harper.
"It's always important to spend time with your partner," David Beckham previously told Glamour U.K. "Those moments you spend together are special. When you show each other attention, you need that."
"We've created something with our children, our family, that's very special," he added. "It's the little things that mean a lot. When you make time for each other, that's the most important thing in a relationship."
Victoria Beckham came to fame as a member of the girl group the Spice Girls and has since launched a number of her own fashion lines. David Beckham retired from professional soccer in 2013 but continues to model.
