LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, is being sued by estranged husband Isaiah Silva for $25,000 in monthly spousal support.

Silva claims Cobain left him in the lurch financially, saddling him with their home in the Hollywood Hills and with the bill for his seven-year-old daughter's private school education.

Silva told the judge he is just a struggling musician with no means to resolve his financial issues.

"[Cobain] has net assets well in excess of $100 million. I am a musician with little income over the last couple years," Silva said in a declaration made to the courts.

Silva is also requesting Cobain pay for therapy for his daughter as, he said, the impending divorce has been particularly rough for her.

"When the petitioner abandoned us she did not have the courtesy to speak to her step-daughter to try to make the transition smooth for her," the declaration stated.

The couple, who wed in 2014 and split in February, do not appear to have a prenuptial agreement in place.

A hearing has been set for September 7.
