LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Britney Spears' life story is the newest focus at Lifetime, where the network is currently planning a two-hour TV biopic called Britney, which will premiere in 2017.

In an announcement Wednesday, Lifetime said Britney, starring Hail Caesar!'s Natasha Basset, will tell the "tumultuous true story" of Spears' childhood in Louisiana, her relationship with Justin Timberlake, her public struggles in 2007 and her subsequent rise back to the top.

Spears, whose ninth studio album, Glory, will be released this week, is not involved with Lifetime's project.

"[Spears is not involved] in any way, shape, or form... nor does it have her blessing," her rep told Entertainment Weekly.

Lifetime is also planning to release movies focused on the death of JonBenét Ramsey, alleged murderer Robert Durst, as well as a television remake of the '80s classic, Beaches.

Spears is scheduled to perform at the MTV VMAs on Sunday, and has recently extended her stay at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood, where she has been performing since December 2013.
