WASHINGTON DEPOT, Conn., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Gilmore Girls fans can finally experience the splendor of Stars Hollow in the fall. The inaugural Gilmore Girls Fan Fest is being planned for Oct. 21 - 23 in Washington Depot, Conn., the town that inspired Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.

The fan-created festival is coming to life through husband and wife Marcus and Jennie Whitaker who had the idea while they were driving through Connecticut.
"We were sitting in traffic outside of Hartford earlier this summer and my wife looked up the distance between Washington Depot and the location of our car at the time," Marcus Whitaker said. "The next thing I knew we were reaching out to the Town Selectman."
The Whitakers have planned a weekend full of Gilmore-related events including screenings of episodes, a Friday night dinner, trivia, a cooking demonstration featuring recipes from the upcoming Eat Like a Gilmore cookbook, and, of course, copious amounts of caffeine.
Cast members Jackson Douglas (Jackson Belleville), Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Yanic Truesdale (Michel), Vanessa Marano (April Nardini), and others are scheduled to make an appearance as well.
Tickets for the weekend event went on sale Thursday and are already sold out.
Netflix is set to air a revival of the show in November.
