'Walking Dead,' 'Doctor Who' panels for New York Comic Con to take place at MSG

NEW YORK, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- ReedPOP says it will be presenting exclusive, New York Comic Con panel discussions and screenings at The Theater at Madison Square Garden this year.

Most of the NYCC events will take place in the pop-culture convention's usual home, the Jacob Javits Center, however The Walking Dead from AMC and Doctor Who and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency from BBC America will be represented Oct. 7-8 at MSG.

"New York Comic Con has become a premier destination for some of the world's most creative studios and it only made sense to showcase them at one of the world's premier venues -- The Theater at Madison Square Garden," Lance Fensterman, global senior vice president of ReedPOP, said in a statement Thursday. "This expansion adds to New York Comic Con's evolution of expanding into New York City and brings our passionate fans the opportunity to see different, unique content all across Manhattan during New York Comic Con."
