RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Zac Efron surprised mega-fan and gold medal winner Simone Biles and the rest of the U.S. gymnastics team at NBC's Rio studios on Tuesday.

Efron, who had tweeted his well-wishes to Biles and shared his excitement about watching Team USA compete in Rio, shared a photo of himself surrounded by the women's gymnastics team with the caption "my Olympic dream came true."

He also tweeted a set of photos of himself with Biles and one picture with Final Five team captain Aly Raisman.

Biles posted a video with Efron to her Twitter saying she thought the two were taking a photo instead of a video, but she wanted proof that Efron kissed her on the cheek.

Biles has not been shy about her affection for Efron, telling NBC about the life-size Efron cardboard cutout she keeps in her room.

Biles also gushed about Efron to Ellen, who provided her with a leotard with Efron's face on the front.

Biles has been a standout at this year's Games, earning four gold medals and a bronze.
