'Batman: Arkham VR': Fans 'wear the cowl' in latest gameplay trailer

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Fans are seen becoming The Dark Knight inside the Batcave in a new gameplay trailer for developer Rocksteady Studios upcoming virtual reality game, Batman: Arkham VR.

The clip, released Monday, features the exclusive Playstation VR title being played by attendee's at this year's San Diego Comic-Con from July.

As fan's gush about the immersive experience and being able to don Batman's signature cowl for the first time, gameplay footage is shown featuring players from a first person perspective looking around the Batcave and throwing a Batarang in order to hit a target.

"Batman: Arkham VR will give you a glimpse of what players are calling the closest you'll ever get to stepping into the role of the World's Greatest Detective," notes Rocksteady.

The game, first announced at E3 2016, will feature the voice talents of Mark Hamill as The Joker, last heard portraying The Clown Prince of Crime in the recently released animated feature, Batman: The Killing Joke.

Batman: Arkham VR for the Playstation VR on Playstation 4 will be released this October. Sony's virtual reality headset will be out Oct. 13, with a price tag of $399.
