NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Former Mafia 2 protagonist Vito Scaletta is back in a new trailer for the next entry in the series, Mafia 3.

The clip, released Thursday, features the ex-mafia man Scaletta joining up with new hero Lincoln Clay in his search for revenge.

"He's seen it all, rising through the mob ranks. Sent down to New Bordeaux by the commission from Empire Bay, he's a man shaken by his past," reads the trailer's official synopsis. "He's a man bound by loyalty even as he's pushed to the brink. What will finally make him rise up against Italian Mafia he's served for so long? Lincoln Clay – and revenge."

Mafia 3, set for release on Oct. 7, revolves around Clay, a mixed-race character who starts to go after organized crime in New Orleans after he returns home from the Vietnam War. The title will reportedly explore the racism that was present in the deep south in 1968. Developer Hangar 13 has stated, however, that they will not sensationalize issues of race.

Mafia 3 will be available for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
