New book 'Bridget Jones's Baby: The Diaries' set for release Oct. 11

LONDON, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Bridget Jones's Baby: The Diaries by Helen Fielding will be published Oct. 11.

"Based on the original columns published in the Independent newspaper, the book tells Bridget's story of her somewhat bumpy journey into motherhood. We'll be sharing all the latest news about the new book with you here, love Bridget HQ," a post on the official Bridget Jones Facebook page said.

The titular heroine, who is famous for her romantic entanglements and career crises, has previously appeared in Fielding's novels Bridget Jones's Diary, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.

A third installment in the contemporary, London-set, Bridget Jones film series -- Bridget Jones's Baby -- is due in theaters Sept. 16. Renee Zellweger will once again star as Bridget.
