NEW YORK, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Ashley Graham is setting the record straight on her rumored weight loss.
The 28-year-old model denied she's lost weight in an essay for Lena Dunham's Lenny Letter after social media users criticized her for appearing too thin in a recent photo.
"The reality is I haven't lost a pound this year. In fact, I'm actually heavier than I was three years ago, but I accept my body as it is today," Graham wrote. "And anyway, if I did want to lose weight, it would be no one's decision but my own."
"To some I'm too curvy. To others I'm too tall, too busty, too loud, and, now, too small -- too much, but at the same time not enough," she said. "The cycle of body-shaming needs to end. I'm over it."
Graham had come under heavy fire in July after posting a picture where she looked less curvaceous than usual. Many were dismayed by her apparent weight loss, with some even accusing her of "betraying" her fan base.
"Body shaming isn't just telling the big girl to cover up. It's trying to shame me for working out. It's giving 'skinny' a negative connotation," the model chided.
"I am here for all women who don't feel comfortable in their skin, who need a reminder that their unique bodies are beautiful," she explained. "I am more than my measurements. I'm not Ashley Graham just because I'm curvy."
Graham previously responded to the controversy with a body-positive message on Snapchat. She explained the photo was taken from a good angle and said she won't "let others dictate what they think [her] body should look like."
