LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Cara Delevingne is opening up about girlfriend Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent.

The 23-year-old English model and actress gushed about the 33-year-old American singer in the September issue of British Vogue amid continued speculation about her sexuality.

"I'm completely in love," Delevingne told the magazine. "Before, I didn't know what love was -- real love."

"I didn't understand the depth of it," she explained. "I always used to think it was you against the world. Now I know the meaning of life is love. Whether that's for yourself or for the world or your partner."

Delevingne and Clark were first linked in February 2015. The model, who previously dated actress Michelle Rodriguez, was long reluctant to define her sexuality, but said she's come to accept being labeled gay.

"As I child, I used gay as a bad word, as in, 'That's so gay.' All my friends did," she confessed. "I'm obviously in love, so if people want to say I'm gay, that's great. But we're all liquid -- we change, we grow."

Delevingne had admitted in the July 2015 issue of Vogue that it took her "a long time to accept the idea" of being gay when she first fell for a woman at 20. Openly dating Clark, however, left her feeling comfortable and free.

"I think that being in love with my girlfriend is a big part of why I'm feeling so happy with who I am these days," she said. "And for those words to come out of my mouth is actually a miracle."

Delevingne is known for her modeling work with Burberry and Chanel. She will play Enchantress in the upcoming movie Suicide Squad and is also slated for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
